Hope Floats Hatchlings

A community outreach program funded by Ontario Trillium Foundation to introduce Dragon Boat to Cancer Survivors and their family and friends

Hope Floats Breast Cancer Survivor Dragon Boat Crew has been awarded a Trillium Grant from the Ontario government to grow our programming at South Niagara Canoe Club.     Covid-19 has unfortunately put our plans on hold for 2020 and this free program will not begin for the 2020 on water season.

The purpose of the initiative is to encourage more Ontarians to have active lives through Dragon Boat, beginning with Cancer Survivors and their supporters.     The encouragement will reach out beyond survivors and dragon boat and will include supporters.   Every one has been touched by cancer in some way, and therefore we plan to reach everyone through providing this free basic dragon boat program designed to teach the stroke, timing, and give participants the confidence they need to join a dragon boat crew.

Stay tuned for more information.
