Member Programs 

SNCC is a club and to participate in any of our member programs you must have an annual membership.  The annual membership fee for the 2016 season is $80.00.  This is to be paid once per year and allows the member to register and partake in our different member programs and allows each member voting privilages at the club annual general meeting.  


Sprint Canoe and Kayak


  • Elementary Paddling (ages 7-11)
    • This program is an introduction to the sport of sprint canoe and kayak, and is designed for participants of all skill levels.  Athletes will receive on-water coaching and will learn to paddle all sprint boats.  No prior paddling experience is necessary.  Over the course of the season athletes are encouraged to enter age class races.  Paddlers are required to wear a certified PFD. 
  •               Spring (2016):  (2x/wk)  Tuesdays & Thursdays  5:00 - 6:15pm (May-June) Fee:  $85.00

    Summer (2016):  (2x/wk)  Tuesdays & Thursdays  5:00 - 6:15pm  (July-August) Fee:  $95.00

    Fall (2016):  (1-3x/week) Variable days and times (experienced paddlers only) (September-November)

    - 1 session per week (Wednesdays  4:30 - 6:15pm) Fee:  $85.00

    - 3 sessions per week (Mon/Wed 4:30 - 6:15pm, Sat 8:00 - 10:00am) Fee:  $140.00

    Winter:  (2016-17)  (2x/wk) (ages 7-11)   (20 weeks) (Nov.- Apr.)         Fee: $200.00                       

                  *SNCC reserves the right to delay or end programming early due to weather, and/or water conditions, and enrolment.

    • Developmental Paddling (ages 12-24)
      • This program is designed for athletes of all abilities.  The focus is on learning to paddle and compete in sprint canoes and kayaks.  Beginners and experienced paddlers are welcome to participate during the Spring and Summer sessions.  The fall session is for experienced paddlers only.

                  Spring (2016):  (4x/wk)  Monday, Wednesday, Friday 4:30-6:30pm, Saturday 9:00-11:00am Fee:  $195.00

    Summer (2016): (4x/wk)  Monday, Wednesday, Friday 4:30-6:30pm, Saturday 9:00-11:00am Fee:  $195.00

    •    Fall (2016):  (1-6x/week) Variable days and times (experienced paddlers only) (September-November)

      - 1 session per week (Wednesdays  4:30 - 6:15pm) Fee:  $85.00

      - 3 sessions per week (Mon/Wed 4:30 - 6:15pm, Sat 8:00 - 10:00am) Fee:  $140.00

      - 6 sessions per week (Mon/Wed/Fri 4:30 - 6:15pm, Tues/Thurs 6:00-7:30am, Sat 8:00-10:00am Fee: $215.00

    Winter:  (2016-17) (Ages 10-18+) Three different levels are being offered depending on paddlers level of interest.

                                         - Level 2* - 6x/wk                (20 weeks) (Nov.- Apr.)                                                        Fee:  $505.00

                                         - Level 3* - 8x/wk (6 group sessions, 2 individual sessions)  (20 weeks) (Nov.- Apr.)   Fee:  $505.00

    *Please note athletes can apply for Level 2 and Level 3 winter programming, but they must be approved by our head coach prior to acceptance into theses programs.  SNCC reserves the right to delay or end programming early due to weather, and/or water conditions, and enrolment. 




Dragon Boat

  • Canal Dragons - Recreational Mixed Crew 
    • This program is designed for adults of all ages and abilities.  We will work on stroke technique and some fundamentals of paddling.  We focus on fun and fitness in the boat.

            Spring (2016):  (2x/wk) - Mon and Wed, 6:30-7:30pm (May - June)*     Fee:  $40.00

            Summer (2016):  (2x/wk) - Mon and Wed, 6:30-7:30pm (July - August)*     Fee:  $50.00

            Fall (2016):  (1x/wk) - day and time to be determined         Fee:  $10.00

            Winter (2016-17):  (2x/wk) - Mon and Wed,  6:30pm-8:00pm (January - March)     Fee:  $225.00


    • Hope Floats - Women's Crew  
      • This program focuses on camaraderie and fun. Some of the paddlers in this crew are survivors of cancer.  Please email for specifics related to when you can safely join post-treatment.

                Spring (2016):  (2x/wk) - Mon and Wed, 6:30-7:30pm (May - June)*                                                              Fee:  $40.00

                Summer (2016):  (2x/wk) - Mon and Wed, 6:30-7:30pm (July - August)*      Fee:  $50.00

                Fall (2016):  (1x/wk) - day and time to be determined          Fee:  $10.00

                Winter (2016-17):  (2x/wk) - Mon and Wed,  6:30pm-8:00pm (January - March)      Fee:  $225.00



    • Warlocks - Competitive Mixed Crew
      • This program runs 3 times a week on the water with an expectation of off water training as well during the spring and summer.  This is a program for people who really want to race in dragon boats, and a very good fitness level is required.  Fall programming is once a week, and new paddlers are welcome.

Spring/Summer/Fall: (3x/wk-Spr-Sum, 1x/wk Fall) Tues & Thurs, 6:30-8:00pm, Sat 9:00-10:30am (Apr. 26 - Sept. 8)*, Fall Sat (Sept. 17- Oct. 1)                                                                                                                                                                 Fee:  $270.00

Winter:  (1x/wk) - Saturdays - 9:30am - 11:00am (November 5- April 15)*                            Fee:  $235.00

Notes:

        • Racing fees are additional in all instances.
        • *SNCC reserves the right to delay the start of programming or end programs early depending on weather and water conditions.
        • The membership fee must be paid once per year.  You must have a valid membership to register for any of our member programs.
        • Every attempt is made to accommodate members, however some programs can only accommodate a limited number of paddlers and can fill up.  Members will be accomodated in order of reciept of a completed registration form and payment in full.  SNCC reserves the right to cancel any program.  
        • Registration is not complete until SNCC recieves payment in full for membership and program and registration information.
        • SNCC does not accept post-dated cheques.
        • SNCC also reserves the right to change programing times.
