Due to Covid-19 Dragon Boat on-water programming have been scheduled to begin in July. This date may move in either direction. Spring training will run until on-water programming can begin.

The price will be prorated accordingly.

ABOUT Canal Dragons

Canal Dragons is a mixed Dragon Boat Crew  for all genders and ages. This program is ideal for families and individual athletes whether you are a beginner, a high-performance athlete or somewhere in between. The focus is on fitness, developing paddling skills, and fun. Racing is optional. 

In a regular paddling season, we offer a variety of packages for your convenience. However, during Covid-19 there have been several restrictions. If a session below does not suit your needs, please contact  Perhaps we can work something out for you.

Paddles and life jackets are supplied however,  due to covid-19 we strongly encourage bringing your own life jacket if you have it.  For spring training, it is recommended you bring a yoga mat.  


Spring training

June 14th  - until on-water session commences 

Monday & Wednesday  time tdb based on polling of registrants.

On-water Session

August ?- September 15 on Monday and Wednesday

6:45 pm - 7:45 pm

September 20 - October 29 

Start and end times daylight dependent

(Saturdays 10 - 11 am may be added based on registration numbers)

Winter Session

January - March Monday and Wednesday

6:30 pm - 8:00 pm Saturday 9:30 - 11:00 am


Spring Training Session: TBD pay as you go

On-water Session:  approx $75 will prorate as required 

Winter Session:  approx $220 

(in the tank @ WIFC)

  • Member:  Spring Training tbd |On-water $5 |  Winter $10
  • Non-member:  Spring Training tbd |On-water $10 | Winter $20.

    Canal Dragons (includes Hope Floats)

    We focus on fitness, paddling technique and fun.

    Adults of all genders and fitness levels welcome. 

    Dragon Boat on-water has been scheduled to begin August 4th.  Full boats are allowed, but we will keep closer to 10 persons in each boat until we are all feeling more comfortable with the reopening.  We will space every other seat left to right where possible.  e.g. seats 1,3,5,7&9 right and 2,4,6,8,10 left (or vice versa).  

    We are registered to race in the Hope Floats Challenge on August 28th.

    Proof of vacination is required. 

    Program Schedule

    August - September 15 - Mondays, Wednesdays 6:30 - 7:45 pm

    Warm up at 6:30 pm, boats leave the dock at 6:45 

    There are no practices on holidays.

    Price·   $70 +HST 


    Dragon off-water training will continue until July 28th, beginning July 19th,  dragon boats will be on the water allowing up to 10 persons in each boat. Do consider coming out for the remainder of off-water training. Payment is by 50/50 draws each session.  You can register here for offwater training.
